The quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle, was a real plus. Our room was fresh and clean, and the staff greeted us warmly at check-in. They made my birthday feel amazing. I’d absolutely recommend this place to friends and family. Thanks to the Sedona Village Lodge staff for such a lovely welcome.
We had a king suite with a balcony, and the views and room were nice. The living room and bedroom each had their own ductless heating and cooling unit. The staff were great, and the price was good even for a holiday weekend. For a two-star hotel, it was a fantastic stay, especially for a small, independently run place. The one snag was a bad smell from the bathroom sink plumbing. It stayed in that room and didn’t spread through the suite. We avoided bringing it back by washing our hands at the kitchen sink. Maybe the pipes need a deep clean, or perhaps it’s a sewer line issue outside the hotel’s control.
Bell Rock and Courthouse made a gorgeous backdrop from the open dining area, both in the morning and beneath the night sky. The lodge is right in the vortex area, with good places to eat within walking distance. We had a spacious room for our family, with a handy little kitchen area, sink, and counter. The room and bathroom were clean and updated, and there was enough furniture. Front desk staff went out of their way to give us great service. The price felt very reasonable for the season and what the room included. We’ll stay here again.
The tub had two cracks, and the room needed a more thorough cleaning. I also couldn’t get hot water at first: I ran the tap for ten minutes and it stayed cold. Then I tried the side marked cold and got hot water instead. The hot and cold sides seem to be switched. The WiFi was unreliable and didn’t reach well. Reviews suggest this has been an issue for years. When I told the front desk, they said no one had brought it up before and suggested it might be my phone, which felt hard to believe. They also said nobody had mentioned the water problem, though the room looks more than 30 years old. I really wanted to like the place because it’s so convenient for restaurants and hiking, but there were too many issues.
I paid extra for a room described as having a view and a fireplace, but neither matched what I expected. Instead of a view, I looked out at an empty lot beside the lodge. The fireplace was an electric imitation. I’ve included photos. At check-in, I was told the room had been remodeled, but it didn’t look recently updated. The paint seemed worn, and the bed was softer than I like.
