We had no issues during our few nights here in May, and Bell Rock was only a five-minute drive away for easy sunrise or sunset hikes. We could see lovely views from the room, at breakfast, and even from the parking lot. At night there were so many stars, and the place was fairly quiet. We’d hike at sunrise, then come back for breakfast on the porch. Our room, Mariposa, had a soft, comfortable king bed, a small drink fridge, a closet and dresser, plenty of outlets, and air conditioning with controls in the room. It got into the high 90s while we were there, so that worked well. Breakfast was filling and delicious, with something different each morning. The staff were especially kind and helpful at breakfast, and welcoming when we checked in. Lovely spot, and we even got a free soft T-shirt at the end.

After the downtown Sedona traffic on the way to watch the sunset, coming back to the Penrose and sitting on our balcony under the Arizona night sky was such a relief. The lodge is tucked into a neighborhood off the busy road, a hidden gem. The staff made us feel welcome, and breakfast was amazing. We had delicious meusli, then tex-mex eggs with avocado toast. They even sent us off with a complimentary T-shirt. We stayed one night while passing through Sedona.

We arrived after dark, so waking up to the views was a lovely surprise. Whitney was a great host and told us about the snacks, beverages, and other amenities. Breakfast was tasty, with almond-flavored overnight oats and breakfast burritos. We’d love to come back, stay longer, and explore the property and nearby trails.

The views were spectacular, and the staff made our anniversary weekend feel special. Housekeeping was so sweet and left rose petals on our bed. The ladies serving breakfast were outstanding, and I’m grateful to the chef for the gluten-free scones. The male staff member who had to work on Easter was still very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are older and a bit short on space, but the beds were comfortable. There were extra pillows on the closet shelf. We’d definitely come back.

Breakfast was different and delicious each morning, and the balcony gave us breathtaking views. We had a clean room and a comfortable bed for our anniversary at the Penrose Bed & Breakfast. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again.
