Breakers Resort Inn

The hotel is right by the beach, and there are plenty of restaurants within a reasonable walk. Staff were helpful and opened the overflow lot when the parking by the entrance was full. The building feels old and poorly maintained. There was mold and mildew in the shower and whirlpool tub, the tile floor felt wet and slippery when the AC was running, and the bed was uncomfortable. The toilet paper holder in our shower room was barely attached. The elevator shook a lot, and one side of our 9th-floor balcony rail was loose. Someone stumbling against it could fall and break their neck. Hallways are cramped, so guests end up shoulder to shoulder when coming and going at the same time. Parking was a hassle too. The overflow lot was closed, which is understandable, but if the receptionist was busy, we either had to wait for them to open it or find parking elsewhere.

Every room faces the beach and has a balcony, and the location is great. The hotel was clean, parking was easy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I mentioned a couple of small concerns about my room, and the front desk noted them for maintenance.

If you want an affordable, no-frills place close to pretty much everything, this is it. Breakers is right on the beach, and the rooms and shared areas were clean, though a little dated. One wall fixture in our room had no power, but there were plenty of other lights.

The location is right on the beach, the rooms face the ocean, and all the staff we met were friendly. Our room was reasonably clean, though I’ve stayed in cleaner places. The beds were the biggest problem. Both had a sunken spot on one side, apparently where people sit near the outlet to use their phones, so neither bed was level or comfortable. I woke with bad back pain. There were also roaches in our bathroom both nights. Our neighbors were rude and cooked at 12:30 am. I know the neighbors aren’t the hotel’s fault, but the adjoining rooms need better insulation. The rancid-oil smell that started at 12:30 am took over an hour to clear, and we didn’t enjoy it.
