Magnuson Hotel Convention Center

For the price, this was a really disappointing hotel. I gave it three stars for location because it was within walking distance of where we needed to be over the next few days. The sheets had cigarette burns and stains, the TV channels were distorted, the sink wouldn't drain, and some light bulbs were out. There was no shampoo or conditioner, and we had to ask for toilet paper because none was in the room. The man at the front desk was rude while I was speaking with him. I glanced over at the girl behind the window with him and she was picking her nose 😑.

The pool wasn't available while we were there, which was a shame. We booked three rooms. In the first one, the microwave and fridge didn't work, but they kindly let us switch rooms, and we appreciated that. The second room smelled like cigarettes for both days and nights of our stay, even though we don't smoke and it smelled that way as soon as we arrived. Everything else was good, and having hot water was better than at most similar places.

The second-floor room was very clean, and the sheets smelled fresh. The bed was super comfortable, and I was pleasantly surprised by the low weekday price. I felt comfortable there, too, since an employee was patrolling the parking lot late at night. The front desk staff were kind and even let me leave my car in their lot after checkout so I could enjoy the beach.

The online pictures don't show what you actually get. There were lots of people living there, and it took three TVs before we got one that worked. Roaches and bugs kept showing up in the bathroom. They only offered to spray, which isn't going to fix the problem. With people living there, they need to have the bug man spray all the units. We got two cheap, flat pillows and just two sheets, with no extras available. Even though they knew about the issues, they wouldn't refund our money. We paid $200, and it wasn't worth it. We called about all the problems and feel they should return some of our money, maybe half as a partial refund. None of the issues have been addressed, including ones from previous guests. Pay a little more and stay somewhere better.
