The Westin Virginia Beach Town Center

The room was spacious, and I had a great view. I stayed in December for my birthday, and the location was handy, with everything within walking distance. The shared garage serves both the public and hotel guests, but I wish there’d been clearer directions for getting to the lobby since it was my first visit. While waiting for my fiancée to check in, I spotted a famous comedian, likely because the comedy venue is so close. The room could use more light. The bathroom layout felt odd, with a low toilet and a shower so small it reminded me of a phone booth. The tub was separate and had no showerhead. There were no bin liners, and the bed was hard enough that I tossed and turned all night. Since there’s a restaurant on site, breakfast wasn’t included.

Our conference and dinner weekend at The Westin Virginia Beach went smoothly, and we’d gladly return. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well kept, and our attendees repeatedly said it felt welcoming. The staff were warm and attentive throughout. Planning started well: when we visited to choose a hotel for the conference and dinner, the team arranged a tour of the spaces and made sure we could speak with a manager before leaving. Ashley Hanger, Senior Sales Manager, coordinated everything thoughtfully and professionally. Trey Lyon helped the Saturday dinner run without a hitch. The two banquet servers and head chef did a wonderful job, and people were still talking about the food the next morning. Maggy Klingberg, Assistant Front Desk Manager, and the front desk team were kind, helpful, and accommodating at every turn. Their care made the event weekend memorable, and we highly recommend the hotel.

I’ve come here many times for work events and when I go to a show at the funny bone. The hotel is easy to park at, with parking attached to the building, and there are lots of restaurants close enough to walk to. Rooms are spacious, clean, and well cared for, with elegant decor. The staff are courteous and professional.

The Freedom Accelerator conference was great, but my room was a letdown for what it cost. The staff were otherwise friendly, and connecting to the Wi-Fi was easy, but the internet didn’t work at all. The room felt dark and generic for the price. On day one there was no hot water, so I had a cold shower. The next day it only reached room temperature, and took five minutes to get there. The vanity light flickered off at random. We were told it would be fixed, but it wasn’t.
