Aloha Junction Bed and Breakfast

I stayed four nights and would happily do it again. The room, Gardenia, was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and breakfast each morning was a delight. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful, a lovely place to unwind after hiking. It's less than five minutes from Volcano National Park, and we used it as a base to explore the park and the southern end of the big island. The owner was very helpful when I called with questions after booking, and the check-in instructions were clear. This was my first bed & breakfast, so I can't compare it with others, but the soundproofing between rooms was less than I'm used to in hotels. Luckily, everyone respected the quiet hours, so it didn't become a problem.

Susan's breakfasts were a lovely start to the day, with a varied menu. We had macadamia nut pancakes one morning and omelettes on Friday, with Hawaiian music playing in the background. My husband and I spent three nights in the Paniolo Room, which was perfect for us. The king-size bed was comfortable, the room stayed quiet and dark each night, and the shower had good water pressure. It was also convenient to drive to HAVO and walk to Lanikai Brewing Company for dinner.

Susan was always accommodating and clearly cared that we had what we needed and were enjoying ourselves. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. Parking is free, and it takes only a couple of minutes to reach Volcano National Park. I highly recommend Aloha Junction and would stay again. Mahalo Susan.

A great spot if you're planning to visit Volcanos National Park. The owner was pleasant and helpful, and the rooms and kitchenette were clean and well equipped. The shared living and dining spaces were comfortable and lovely, with a view of the beautiful landscaping.
