I booked a room with two queen beds more than a month ahead for me and my young children. Only the day before we set off on the long drive did the confirmation arrive, saying Michillinda Lodge had put us in a room with two double beds instead. Nobody had told me about the change. The receptionist was kind and acknowledged the mistake when I called, but said they were sold out and couldn't fix it. The manager was away, then called later because I was confused and upset. She was rude, laughed about it, and canceled my reservation without asking, just before hanging up. We had nowhere to stay only hours before our vacation departure. As a single mom, I ended up paying $900 at a nearby hotel instead of the $430 I had budgeted. The manager also butt-dialed or drunk-dialed me late at night and left a voicemail, then later lied about it. The whole thing was completely unprofessional and caused huge stress and expense. I would never recommend this place. They showed no respect for guests or families who work hard to plan trips.

We had 11 family members staying in Cabins A, B and C, and the smaller size of the resort meant we never felt crowded by other guests. The property is beautifully maintained, the accommodations are clean and cozy, and the staff are extremely helpful. There’s plenty of outdoor space for kids to play and ride bikes. The older resort has lots of charm and great amenities: a pool, tennis and pickleball courts, a beach, a bonfire pit, and a deck with stunning views of Lake Michigan. Whitehall and Montague are nearby, with restaurants, shops, and their own charm. Michigan Adventure and Duck Lake State Park give you even more to do. We loved our family vacation and are excited to return in 2026. If I could give Michillinda 10 stars, I would!

A charming, peaceful place to unwind and enjoy gorgeous views of Lake Michigan. There are seats around the property where you can take in the scenery from all sorts of spots, and the sunsets are stunning. Leah, the general manager, was so welcoming and accommodating, making my recent stay comfortable and pleasant. I’ll definitely be back.

My siblings and cousins joined us for a family reunion, and we had a wonderful time. There were plenty of shared spaces for everyone, including a great spot for family breakfasts and suppers. The property has lots to do, with even more activities nearby. My young grandchildren especially enjoyed the pool, beach, and shuffleboard. It’s a great place to spend a week by Lake Michigan.

A beautiful wedding venue, with Lake Michigan as the backdrop. You can choose an indoor or outdoor reception, stay in rooms for a couple of nights, and get private beach access. What else could you ask for?
