The pool was clean, which I really appreciated after seeing filthy green pools at other hotels on this vacation. The patio was nice too, with seating, a large Connect Four game, and fire pits. Staff were friendly, the hotel was updated and clean, and the room looked nice and was well air conditioned. They provide good quality Dry Bar shampoo and conditioner. The standard king was small, though, and getting around without waking my husband was difficult because the sink is outside the bathroom. I also didn’t like the barn door, since it offered no sound privacy. There’s no continental breakfast, but that was fine since we were there for Magnolia. One evening, we asked a staff member to turn on a fire pit, but she didn’t know how; the next day it was on when other people were outside. I’d book here again when I’m in the area.

Zack was a big help when my car wouldn’t start, and everyone on staff I met was friendly. I was pleased with the hotel and would recommend staying here. The room just took a long time to warm up.

The front desk service was good, and I found the room design unusual compared with other hotels. Still, in the evening when I was trying to sleep, I saw a large roach moving on the bed. I killed it and threw it away, but then didn’t feel safe sleeping there. It was my first stay at the Aloft, and as a member of Marriot, the hotel’s management team should maintain a high standard.

The young woman who checked us in was very nice, and the room and shower were clean. But there was a train rolling through at 6:30 in the morning, and the comforter made a loud bubble-wrap popping sound every time I moved. The bed was too soft for me, so after a very long drive I had a poor night’s sleep. More like a 3.5.

A clean, convenient place with nicely done rooms, as I’ve found at other Aloft hotels. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The main drawback was freight trains going by near the hotel around 2 or 3 in the morning, blowing their horns. It’s just part of the area, not something the hotel or anyone else can control.
