Wadley Inn

Wadley is such a tiny town you could blink and miss it, so keep your eyes open 😳🤓. It’s very quiet and peaceful. Louisville, with more amenities, is about 20 minutes away. There are only two gas stations, though one has pretty good food, including pizza and home-cooked meals. There’s also a Dollarama across from the motel with groceries and other goods. The rooms are a nice size and clean, and the A/C works well. No bed bugs 🪳🤓😉😁. Customer service was friendly, with no attitude. The rate was $75 for one person in a double bed. I’m not sure what the weekly prices are. Enjoy your stay!

I couldn’t rent a room because they wouldn’t wait 10 to 15 minutes for me to get back, even though I knew I’d be there no later than midnight. I’d called about a room for Christmas Eve on the 21st, and the woman asked me to call again the next day since some guests were expected to leave and they’d probably have a room. When I called back, they did have one, but couldn’t guarantee I’d return by 11:30. It likely wouldn’t even have taken me 10 to 15 minutes to get out, and I thought I could be back before 11. Sounds like a lovely place, but they wouldn’t accommodate a customer for 15 to 20 minutes, so I’m giving it two stars.

The location was really handy, right next to my friends’ family home. Wadley is a very, very small town where everyone literally knows everyone, so when someone from outside visits friends, the whole town finds out, haha. The rooms were huge, which was more than I expected. I needed hangers and an iron for my clothes, and they brought them promptly, even though I asked really late, around 2 a.m. The bathrooms could use better sanitizing, with Clorox and a good scrub. A few bugs showed up in the bathroom too.

My family and I had to use our own bath towels because the ones in the room that were supposed to be clean had other people’s hair on them. I also noticed the owners weren’t taking off the bedding, just remaking beds after people had slept in them the night before. Check-out was 11 a.m., but the two owners were knocking on doors at 9:30 a.m. Stay here at your own risk.
