Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

I spent my birthday here in May 2026 with my sister, and Maui was my first Four Seasons location after staying at others. They didn’t disappoint. The kindness and professionalism started with the car service and warm arrival, and carried on right through departure. Thanks to everyone who made me feel special. I can’t remember everyone’s name, but Chris (Guest Relations), Gi,Gi, Sharon and all (club house), Alexa (Spa), Richie (chauffeur), and Victor (at the ocean side) were amazing. I’ll be back next year. THANK YOU!

We booked through Amex FHR and asked for early check-in months beforehand, knowing it depended on availability. We arrived around noon, but the room still wasn’t ready at the stated 4 PM check-in time. A long front desk line meant we didn’t get our key until about 4:23. There were 10+ bugs in and around the room. More cleaning didn’t solve it, and we still saw them near the door, so we had to change rooms late that evening. The property felt dated and crowded, with many outdoor areas lacking AC. The check-in queue was long, the pool and facilities were busy, and bird droppings landed right on our table during a meal. At this price for a Four Seasons, that experience was unacceptable. Management acknowledged the problems and gave us a reasonable resolution, which I appreciated, so I’ve updated this to 2 stars. The stay itself was very poor.

We had requested an early check-in, and I know that can’t always be accommodated. Still, when a hotel says it will have you checked in by 4pm, you expect it to follow through, especially at this price. We’re a family of 6 and were still waiting well past 4pm for keys to both rooms. Nobody apologized or seemed to accept responsibility. The front desk staff came across as completely uncaring, which is sad for a resort with such a strong reputation. I suspect the management at this Maui property has allowed a sloppy culture to develop. We should have read the reviews before booking, since there seem to be plenty of other negative ones. This is the worst Four Seasons we’ve stayed at. We won’t come back, and I hope this helps someone else make a decision.

The rooms were phenomenal, with everything you could want already there before you even thought of it. Service was 11/10: every detail felt right, and everyone was friendly and helpful. From arrival to departure, it was a first-class experience unlike any other hotel we’ve stayed at. Pure MAGIC. We had an incredible family vacation. You need to experience it for yourself.
