Kihei Akahi D-105 by Maui Rental Group

We were excited to book a Maui honeymoon through Airbnb, but only learned after paying the deposit that this rental group requires every guest to be at least 25, with no exceptions. The properties themselves don't all have that same age rule, which felt misleading. Customer service was awful when I called to try to sort it out. Really disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend them.

The location worked so well for us, with an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. Our six adults and two kids had plenty of room, and the games and cards under the living room TV kept the little ones busy. Beds were comfortable and the showers had good pressure. We’d rent it again, though I hope a few things get fixed first. The sliding doors all stick, especially the living room one. It got jammed, and we had to go through the bedroom to open it from outside. The fridge ice maker doesn't sit right, frosts over, then leaks, so we put a towel down after it happened once. The ceiling fan lights are dim, and the living room AC control also operates the first bedroom, with the remote kept in that bedroom. Those issues are why I'm giving four stars. The Vtrips info said to bring a hair dryer and that beach towels weren't provided, but there was one hair dryer in each bathroom, a curling iron in the primary bath, and beach towels in the bedrooms. We were also pleasantly surprised by six chairs, two umbrellas, a couple coolers and beach toys in the double queen room closet, plus boogie boards on the lanai. The photo is the view from the living room lanai. There are 'pay it forward' items in the folding kitchen cabinet left of the sink and in the upper cabinet beside the fridge, so check those before shopping. We left washing machine items and a small first aid kit there.

We stayed in 1210 for a beach holiday and would happily return. Charlie Young Beach is across the street, the BBQ area is nice, and the pool is very close. The unit felt like good value. It was clean and well cared for, the mini split kept it cool, and the blackout curtains helped with the hot afternoon lanai. Despite some reviews we'd seen, the internet worked well, and the router looked new.

Two weeks in Maui Vista 1210, Building #1, and we’ve been enjoying the island. Kamaole Beach Park l, aka Charley Young Beach, is right across the street. The condo is clean, with great AC, good wifi, a big flat screen TV with lots of channels, and a very comfortable king bed. It's close to amenities and good restaurants. We'd definitely request unit 1210 @ Maui Vista again.
