The unit was so dirty, especially the air vent. I’ve never seen one that disgusting, and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the place first opened. One Friday afternoon, pest control came and we guests had to move the furniture away from the walls ourselves. They also expect you to do a load of laundry before checkout. From what I saw, they don’t clean the units at all. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The property had no issues during our stay, even though the island was hit by a Kona storm. Check-in was quick, and the place matched the description and photos. We had a great visit, though I wish the pools had stayed open so people could spend some time there instead of being in the condo for two days.

The units are great and the grounds are well kept, but the rules were the biggest problem for me. Pool quiet time starts at 6pm, so even a friendly laugh with friends feels out of place. It really spoiled the vibe for our group. Next time we’ll probably look for somewhere that’s more group-friendly after 6.

The lanai at G110 in the Ginger cluster was a highlight. I’m not usually a morning person, but I was up by 6:30 with coffee, listening to the island wake up. Birds and the famous Maui chickens wandered across the lawn, and one morning I spotted a little mongoose of some sort. That wasn’t on my bingo card, but it felt magical. The condo is beautifully appointed, with a wonderful patio view, and even a second lanai off the bedroom with lovely morning light. Brete made our first Maui trip and honeymoon feel special from the start. I had so many questions, and he was patient and a great resource. You could feel his aloha and pride in Maui. His Airbnb messages were helpful, and the condo had one of the most thorough guidebooks I’ve seen. There was also a handwritten welcome note and a few Maui treats waiting for us. The property was immaculate, with beautiful landscaping and Christmas decorations I loved. We had our own parking spot close to the unit. At night we curled up on the comfy couch and watched holiday shows. I don’t usually like a soft bed, but I slept like a baby in the master bedroom. Having two bathrooms helped us get ready faster for outings. Brete also provided beach chairs and fun beach equipment, which left us more money for Mai Tais. I love cooking at home, but took the honeymoon off. The kitchen had a lovely new stove and everything you might need to make meals. We only used the stove to reheat leftover kalua pork and pineapple pizza from South Shore Tiki Lounge. Please don’t judge, it’s fantastic with jalapenos! Kihei worked well as a midpoint between Lahaina and Wailea. There are lots of beaches nearby, including Kamaole 1, 2, and 3, and Keawakapu, and parking at all of them was easy. If you like snorkeling, add Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve to your list. It’s 25 minutes south. Maui at Christmas will always mean a lot to us, and Brete and his family helped make it magical by opening their home to guests. Fellow travelers and Airbnb’ers, I’d book this condo again without hesitation.
