Palms at Wailea Maui

A quiet, peaceful neighborhood that's good for a stay with kids. The beach is within walking distance, and parking is free if you're renting a place.

We loved our nine nights here. The condos are large and the views are beautiful, and if you can upgrade to an ocean view, it's worth it. Everything we needed for a good family trip was there. My child was sick for three days, but staying in with those views and the nice lanai was still fine. It's not completely up to date, but it was clean and very functional.

We booked eight nights in November, but after just one night we left to find another hotel. The room smelled bad, the sofa and furniture were old, the bed was very hard, and using the guest room AC would cost extra. The service was terrible. There were no TV instructions, and the receptionist was rude, not even looking at me while speaking. There was no ocean access, and we had to walk almost two miles to reach it. The stairs hadn't been repaired, and my daughter fell. I found tiles and concrete in the closet. When I asked to switch rooms, the receptionist said they only manage 30 houses and had no room available. The Palms at Wailea Maui then charged me an extra $440 cleaning fee, even though we stayed only one night. I tried to communicate with them, but they still charged it. I attached all the evidence. Please pass on this hotel if you don't want a nightmare.

We're wrapping up our stay in Unit 1106, and the view through the huge picture window is amazing. The condo is gorgeous, with two lovely bedrooms and baths, a good kitchen and dining area, a lovely living room, and a washer-dryer combo. We ate in often and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Just sitting inside with that ocean view was relaxing and wonderful.
