Kapa'a Sands 10 Studio

We loved the quiet, beautiful setting and how private it felt. Sitting on the lanai with coffee in the morning was lovely, and the sound of the waves at night put me right to sleep. It’s especially great for couples, particularly unit 3. We’ll 100% be back.

This stay was a huge disappointment and spoiled part of our honeymoon. We weren’t clearly told beforehand that the unit had no air conditioning. Worse, there were ants all over the bathroom floor. It was clearly an infestation, not just a couple of ants. There was no manager on site, so we had to call Vacasa, the property manager. They apologized but wouldn’t move us or give us a refund, saying only that they’d put down ant traps. That wasn’t enough for the situation. For the high price, I expected basic cleanliness and a prompt response, but got neither. There was no real support, and they acted as if this was normal. I wouldn’t stay in another Vacasa-managed property, and I hope future guests know what they might be arriving to. A honeymoon should be remembered for better reasons than poor management and a room full of ants.

Unit#14 was a beautiful place to spend 10 days. The beach out front is lovely, and there’s a good swimming spot a little farther down, though the beach is kind of rocky. The tropical grounds are beautiful, and the pool was immaculate and inviting. We had a fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed breakfast on the lanai while watching the sunrise. The unit was clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom is a bit small, but that’s a minor thing. Lots of restaurants are within walking distance, and Coconut Marketplace is just down the street. I’d happily stay here again.

The beach and ocean are only feet away, and from our upstairs unit we had a bit more privacy than the ground floor places, where people come and go to the water. We stayed in a Murphy bed studio with standard apartment furnishings, a great shower, and an awesome kitchen with a full-size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, oven, and four-burner stove. There was also a small glass dining table. The parking area is huge, and restaurants and a great bakery are right across the street. We walked a lot, but also had a Ford F-150 and drove every road we could. The waterfalls, jungle, and arboretums were fun to see. After landing and getting the truck, we went to Costco for drinks, snacks, and fresh fruit. And there’s a Krispy Kreme by Costco, a huge treat since there isn’t one within 300 miles of home! We were new to this style of unit, but the owner was AWESOME. There is an “office building” in the parking lot for the non-owner rentals. Just follow the supplied directions, park, walk straight to your unit, and use the key box at the door. We heard about this place from a friend who stayed here. It’s just perfect. If I won the lottery, I’d stay here from now on. Hands down the most incredible property on the island!
