That saltwater pool and waterfall made the guesthouse feel like our own little sanctuary at the end of the day. We stayed in the Plantation room, where the high ceilings and vintage Hawaiian decor made us feel at home. It had a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and window AC, though we preferred the island breeze through the window with the ceiling fan on. Maureen and her team were genuinely welcoming, and the place felt quaint, safe, and centrally located for exploring Maui. They include free parking, filtered water, snorkel gear, beach towels, and a small cooler. There’s also laundry on site with good machines for a small fee paid to the team, and detergent was provided, so no coins or laundry card needed. We tried a lot of Airbnbs on Maui, and this was our favorite. We’ll come straight back next time. Highly recommend.

I liked being able to walk from the guesthouse into Wailuku’s small downtown, and the location worked well for the rest of my trip. Haleakala Crater, Road to Hana, Waihe'e Trail, 'Iao Needle, and Maui Swap Meet were all relatively close. It’s not especially near the tourist beaches around Kihei or West Maui, though. If you want a beachfront resort with spa services and a hot tub, the big places in Wailea or Ka'anapali may suit you, but you’ll pay $900+ a night. For a clean, quiet room in a safe, central spot to explore from, this place is a great deal, about a quarter of that price. I extended my Maui trip by four days and needed somewhere new, so this guesthouse was just right. Maureen was sweet, quick to answer questions and requests, and gave me lots of good local food recommendations. The Plantation Room was an okay size for me, though it could feel small for two. It’s nothing fancy, but it was clean and quiet, had a decent bathroom, and there’s a beautiful pool area open to guests. I checked prices, and the value for Maui is hard to beat. Say hi to the cute orange cat by the front gate! :)

After spending the day out surfing, this was a good place to come back and rest. The Parlay and Esters Fair Project, two restaurants and cocktail bars we’d just discovered and loved, are a short walk down the street, with coffee nearby too. We enjoyed the Plantation Room, which was just as described. The property was well maintained, and for Maui the price was an absolute steal.

We liked the place a lot. It had what we needed, including a pool, laundry, and beach supplies to take along for the day. There was even a picnic cooler for keeping drinks cold at the beach. It also worked well as a base for visiting spots all around the island, with everything about a 15-40 minute drive away.
