Charles was a good man, and the service I received was great. My room was spacious and clean, with a soft, relaxing bed and a bathroom that had a working hot tub. I really liked the pocket door on the private bathroom, since one person could use it while someone else brushed their teeth or showered. I was very happy with the room, especially for the price.

No hot water this morning. I’ve never been allowed to check in early at a hotel or motel before, even though this place looked empty, so I guess I had to wait for a room to be cleaned. Avoid a room facing the parking lot if horns bother you, people arrive at all hours and toot. I switched rooms at 11:30 p.m. and left a pair of pants in the drawer. Staff said they weren’t there, but they’re not in my suitcase or car either.

The thin walls were the main drawback. I could hear people talking in the hall and footsteps from the floor above. Still, this was my second stay, and it was better than my visit a couple of years ago. The new paint and decor helped, and it wasn’t a bad place for one night.

After driving more than seven hours because we’re moving to the area, we were very disappointed by the room. It smelled strongly of smoke as soon as we walked in, even though it was supposed to be nonsmoking. We have a six-month-old, and the bed was disgusting, with pulls all over the sheets and pillows, almost as if a cat had been there. We took off the bedding and used our own. The mattress was hard as a rock, and the headboard was broken. The bathroom was filthy. We had to get cleaning supplies from our car before we could shower. There were brown and red marks on the walls, and dirt was left on the floor and in the shower, which hadn’t been swept or mopped. Our family came with us, and they said their rooms were dirty too and smelled of cigarettes despite asking for nonsmoking rooms. If you want a clean, family-friendly hotel, save your money and look elsewhere.
