West Walker Motel

The bathroom had plenty of space, but the shower barely had any pressure, and there was hair on the floor. The room itself was pleasant, just much too cramped, and not having a kettle was a letdown. This motel could be a good option if they got the room properly clean.

We slept in a clean room with a comfortable bed, but spent the winter night and morning freezing because the heater kept failing. When I called in the morning, I was told someone named Dave would come check it. We waited without hearing anything, so I called again to ask for a later checkout since it was too cold to even shower. A gentleman called back, and by then the heat had, ironically, come on. I told him it was okay, though it kept switching off and on again. We took quick showers and left for our plans. It was my first stay here. Summer may be fine, but in winter they need to make sure the heaters work. We nearly ended up sleeping in our car with the heater on.

We had a comfortable bed, clean, well-kept rooms, and Wi-Fi for staying connected. It’s a quiet motel with outdoor grills plus tables and chairs for a family barbecue. The location in Walker, CA is handy too, right across the street from Mtn View BBQ restaurant.

I ended up moving to a different motel for the third night. The photos suggested a nice place, but it seemed they had mostly just painted it. There was only a worn-out lawn chair for furniture, and I couldn’t find anywhere to plug things in except a power strip under the bed, which I finally discovered on my second night.
