Courtyard by Marriott Walla Walla

The hotel was clean overall, and the employees were friendly. Stella at the front desk was especially helpful and friendly. We did have to walk down to the desk to get towels when we asked for them.

The pool and hot tub were okay, though a bit small for a hotel this size. I also thought breakfast would be included at this price, especially compared with other local hotels. Our room had a few problems. The mini fridge barely kept things cold on its highest setting. Frozen water bottles that normally take a day or more to thaw were liquid within a couple of hours. The AC grate rattled loudly while it ran, and I had to weigh it down with clothing. At first glance the room looked clean, but we found a white rubber wedding band in the sheets, a huge stain on the love seat's footrest, and hair in the shower. The stain made us wonder whether that footrest should have been removed. The layout was unusual, with a giant corner love seat and only a narrow path to one side of the king bed. We made it work, but I thought the room was meant to be handicap accessible, and the bed placement seemed like it could make transfers difficult for someone using a wheelchair on either side. With a few adjustments on our end, we still enjoyed the weekend and would return. I'm just not sure the price fits the experience, so we may compare it with places nearer downtown.

The hotel is just west of Main St, close to all the restaurants, shops, and tasting rooms. There's also a Stsrbucks bar and restaurant with good breakfast and happy hour options. The place is always clean, and the staff are friendly.

The rooms feel modern and have the equipment you need, plus luxurious bedding. My OCD appreciates that both the nightstand and microwave clocks are set. And when you turn on the TV, the volume doesn't blast you out of the room.
