Holiday Inn Express Walla Walla by IHG

We enjoyed sitting by the fire in the outdoor courtyard, and Hot Mama's coffee shop across the parking lot was a hit with us. Room 301 was very clean, with a comfortable bed and a decent TV. The breakfast area was small but fine. The front desk was understaffed, though the person working managed. The lobby shop had very little, so I walked over to the Comfort Inn next door for ice cream. The room was advertised as having a mountain view, but all I could see were the trees planted beside the building and a bit of parking lot.

The room was fine, about what I expected, and the staff were friendly. We skipped breakfast. The convenience shop was almost empty, and the only vending machine was too. Signs pointed to other machines, but they weren’t there, and the ice machine was broken.

For the price, this is pretty darn good. The showers have great water pressure, and the pool is clean and never seems to be out of service. My main gripe is breakfast. It’s really good, but they keep running out of food. Staff seem to refill the things that haven’t run out while the regular items take ages to come back. I’ve stayed here 10 times, and it’s been a problem every time. Please add staff and keep more food stocked, since you know the breakfast rush is coming.

The room was great, breakfast was good, and it was nice that our room was ready early. The hotel was also convenient for our plans, about 5 minutes from Walla Walla college. At checkout, the clerk didn’t know how to take cash and said she’d give me a receipt after the manager showed her how. I still haven’t received it. The booking showed $114 with tax, but the checkout total was $129 because other taxes and fees hadn’t been included.
