SureStay by Best Western Walla Walla

The staff and service made this place great. I stayed a week with a group of nearly 20, with people checking in and out at different times and coming and going. We also needed to change the reservation to arrive a day early, and they made it all easy. Room service came daily, and the elevator worked great. It's an older place, but well kept. Rooms are a decent size, the beds are pretty average, and the outside is cute, with a little garden and grapes. The location was exceptional, with everything nearby.

Our room smelled bad, felt cheap, and needs work. A wet spot was on the floor by the fridge. The chair arms were rubbed down and flaky, and the lamp outlets dangled, looking like they'd been glued back on many times. Small, too. Unfortunately, I won't stay here again.

The pool area was great, and I enjoyed my stay enough to come back. The staff were very nice and polite at check-in. The beds felt very firm to me, and the waffle batter was a little thick, but breakfast was still good. Keep up the good work.

After our children ate the hotel's breakfast waffles, they got sick soon afterward with what seemed like food poisoning. I contacted management to raise a concern in case there was a food safety issue affecting other guests, not to argue. Instead, the manager and owner both called and yelled at me. They insisted the breakfast couldn't have caused it because the hotel was at max capacity and nobody else had complained. That was dismissive and defensive, especially with children's health involved. There was no apparent concern for guest safety, willingness to investigate, or accountability. The way management handled it showed no professionalism or compassion. I hope the hotel takes a hard look at its food safety practices and customer service. No guest, especially a family with children, should ever be treated
