The Wallingford Victorian Inn

They made my birthday feel special, with attentive service and a room set up with cake and wine. The Inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas and restored to a quieter, more comfortable time in history. Breakfast was freshly prepared and wonderful. The care in all the details made this an amazing place to stay. We’ll be back, and I highly recommend it.

The library, with its antique books, and the giant chess set in the rose garden were highlights for me. It felt like a dream mini-vacation, full of things I love. The Inn was charming, beautiful, and cozy, with courteous, welcoming staff. Our room was clean and luxuriously comfortable. Thanks for a perfect little getaway.

Neil's Donuts was on my itinerary, though breakfast here was so generous that I almost didn’t have room to indulge. The meal was delicious and enormous. The location also made it easy to take a long walk or run, with gorgeous Choate Rosemary Hall nearby and uptown shops, restaurants, and churches just a block away. I paid less than I expected for what felt like the best value I’ve had at a B&B, and I’ve stayed at plenty. Old Victorian inns are often charming but creaky, with dated appliances. This one was immaculate and seemed surprisingly new while still clearly historic. My room and bathroom were huge, and the furniture was incredibly comfortable. It’s the fanciest B&B I’ve stayed in. I’ll be back with my wife.

The town was really sweet, and the house itself was stunning with wonderful amenities. The innkeeper welcomed us warmly at check-in, saw to our needs, and shared some of the house’s history. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and bought the birthday package, which made for a lovely visit. Breakfast was amazing, with more than enough food for even the biggest appetites. We can’t wait to return!
