Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

This was my third stay here, though my first at Boulder Creek Resort. The resort was nice and mostly what I expected, and I enjoyed dinner at Geyser Grill again. Two things disappointed me. A week before arrival, I learned the ferry to Magic Kingdom wouldn’t run because the dock was being maintained. I’d been counting on that ride, and Disney gave me no option to change my reservation, so I was left with the bus or driving. The AC fan was also a problem. It kept running even with the thermostat set to “OFF,” and the constant airflow was annoying and dried out my sinuses. I asked the front desk to look into it, but when I returned that day there was no note or message. The next morning I asked the same person for an update and was read a message saying the fan couldn’t be turned off unless the unit was shut down permanently. I couldn’t turn it back on myself.

After full days at the parks, the hotel felt peaceful and quiet, and everything was clean and inviting. The staff were fabulous. We loved our stay at Wilderness Lodge, though we had to take buses to Magic Kingdom because the boats were being refurbished.

Boulder Ridge was a great place to stay, nice and quiet. I wasn’t as impressed with the dining choices. Breakfast at Whispering Canyons is one I’ll skip next time. They couldn’t even make a ham and cheese omelette, and there are plenty of better breakfast options on the property.

We loved Geyser point, the pools, and the hot tub, and the mouse keepers were friendly and fantastic. At first we usually rented a car to get to the parks, but this time we took the bus. We considered the boat, but it required transferring from a wheelchair to the boat. Wilderness Lodge is going on our list of places to return to.
