Sunset Inn

The beds were really comfortable, and they had clean smelling towels, two waters, and popcorn waiting in the room. After ten hours on the road from Lake Tahoe toward Kansas, I just wanted somewhere clean and quiet. The host was great, too. Stop here and support a family doing a great job.

We arrived late, but the host showed up quickly and got us checked in. I was surprised by how nice the room was, and it's clearly well cared for. It's pet friendly, though you'd never know it. We'd definitely stay again and recommend it.

The rooms are a bit old, but clean, and had water, granola bars, coffee makers, and microwaves. The next morning, an employee whose name I didn't catch checked my car's codes so I could get an idea of what was wrong. That was fantastic service and made a really rough situation a little brighter. I'd highly recommend this roadside motel if you're passing through Wamsutter, and the rates aren't bad, especially since it's the only lodging in town. I was stranded late at night on I80, and the owner came by to check me in with a fantastic attitude, even though it was so late.

I've stayed at The Sunset Inn in Wamsutter, Wyoming several times, and will try to plan another stop there when I'm traveling that way. The cabins are comfy, it's super clean, and the staff are really nice. The price is reasonable, too. It feels cozier than anywhere else I've stayed away from home. It's quiet, with only distant interstate noise and none of the door slamming, talking, or stomping you usually hear in hotels and motels.
