Parkfield Inn - Warsaw

My fiancé, our two dogs, and I spent several weeks at this hotel through a transitional housing assistance program while relocating out of state. I'm a veteran experiencing homelessness, and the program was meant to help us stabilize and find permanent housing. We followed hotel policies and took the dogs out every 2-3 hours, or more when needed, except overnight while we slept. Since we were preparing to move, we kept much of our personal property in the room instead of the car. Last week, when asked to change rooms, we did so immediately. On February 24, 2026, a woman who called herself “Rhonda” asked to inspect our room. She repeatedly stressed that she was the General Manager. We agreed without hesitation. She was there for about three minutes, then told us we had to leave the property. When we asked why, she pointed to alleged problems in the previous room that weren't accurate and said the current room smelled of dog urine. We strongly disagree. After several weeks, the original room did have a general dog odor, but not urine or feces. That can happen during an extended stay with pets despite frequent outdoor breaks and efforts to keep things clean. We were allowed one hour to pack everything and leave. With significant belongings in the room, no alternative housing arranged, and our participation in a housing transition program, that was an extremely stressful and difficult demand. We asked for more time to pack safely and responsibly and were refused. There had been no written warning, chance to address concerns, or reasonable notice before we were told to go. The way Rhonda handled it felt deeply unprofessional. She was dismissive and confrontational with us. Before coming to the room, we could hear her speaking harshly to employees in the hall and repeatedly reminding them she was the “General Manager.” Her conduct toward guests and staff showed poor leadership and a lack of professionalism. Being removed from temporary housing on one hour's notice left us in a very vulnerable position. I'm sharing what happened so future guests, especially people on extended stays or in housing assistance programs, know how situations may be handled here. I expect the hotel may dispute my account, but I stand by the facts as they occurred.
