Sheraton Providence Airport

The lobby was pleasant and the staff were nice, but our stay was far below what I'd expect from a Sheraton. We were assigned a first-floor room that was really a basement. The carpet was stained in several places, and the furniture was ripped and marked up. After my daughter finished a hockey game, she tried to shower, but brownish water came from the showerhead. It cleared after a couple of minutes. We asked to change rooms but were told none were available until the next day. In the third-floor room we moved to, there were holes in the walls, and the toilet rocked on the floor and only flushed if you held the handle down the whole time. The hotel needs a complete renovation. We won't be back, and I'd avoid it unless they renovate.

The beds were comfortable and breakfast was great. Housekeeping did change our bedding when we asked, which was appreciated. But within minutes of getting into the room, we found things left by former guests: a fish fillet in the freezer, a drink in the fridge, and a bag of clean diapers in the closet. They were easy to spot, and it made us wonder whether the bedding had been cleaned.

I've stayed here several times while visiting family in RI, and the rooms have been clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. The price and location are still good, so I'll probably return. This visit felt quite different from the others, though. Our fourth-floor hallways repeatedly smelled of both marijuana and cigarette smoke, and we were woken by screaming arguments from other guests twice. The walls are very thin. The atmosphere is starting to feel more like a Motel 6 than a Sheraton or Wyndham. That's not really the hotel's fault, but it's useful for people to know what they're getting.

The runway view was lovely at night, with the plane lights, and the room was soundproof enough that I couldn't hear a thing. The king bed was very comfortable, and the room was spotless. From check-in through checkout, everything was a pleasure. The staff were amazing, polite, and helpful. I'd absolutely stay again and recommend it to family visiting from out of state.
