Adam's Inn

We had a lovely anniversary stay. Even with the inn full, our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Someone walked us to our room in the building next to the office. Breakfast was good, and we never heard the fire truck or ambulance across the street. We also saw no sign of the rats or bedbugs mentioned in other reviews. The zoo, two Metro stops, and lots of restaurants are an easy walk away. We’d happily stay again.

The neighborhood felt safe and quiet, and we slept well. Adams Inn is very close to the National Zoo, with plenty of good restaurants and bars within walking distance, though not right next door. Our room was spacious and clean, with a private small bathroom and a comfortable bed. Other rooms on our floor had private sinks but shared a bathroom. It’s made up of three townhouses and a carriage house. Street parking is difficult, and the limited on-site parking costs an extra $40 per day. We were glad we paid for it. The continental breakfast was a little disappointing for a B&B, but enough for a light meal. We’d come back, provided we booked a room with its own bathroom.

I stayed here with my three kids and would gladly return, either with them or on my own. The zoo is close enough to walk to, which is handy for families, and there are lots of tasty restaurants nearby. I liked having a private room when I wanted quiet, along with shared areas for spending time with other people. The place has a lovely, homey feel.

The room we had was on the small side, but it did have its own bathroom. Breakfast came with the stay and had a decent range of options. For the price, this is a very good place in one of the country's best rated neighborhoods. I was extremely satisfied and would recommend it to budget travelers.
