AKA White House

The staff were very nice, and the place was quiet, which I appreciated. We chose this property because it had two bedrooms and a fantastic terrace that our grandchildren loved. The rooms were good, and the space felt large and open. I love the AKA in Alexandria, but it doesn't offer two bedrooms, so we came here instead. There were several drawbacks. The lobby had a strong smell of propane, the old carpets were dirty and need updating or a thorough shampoo, and the hotel itself feels dated and needs redecorating. Parking was difficult and cost $60 per day. Everything had to be prepaid at arrival, along with a $250 deposit. It also doesn't run like a typical hotel, with no staff to help with luggage or parking. Please put some money into updating the property.

The utensils in my suite had mold on them, like they hadn't been washed or dried properly. I was also handed OYO lotion, one of the cheapest motel brands from India, and wondered why the staff thought that was appropriate. There were bedbugs in a $600-per-night room. I told the staff, and they said they'd check, but the bugs were still there the following night. I developed rashes on my back, and the whole experience was harrowing. Now, in the response, they deny that I ever stayed there. Man up, guys.

The location was just right, and the property was immaculate and well appointed. Comfort and quality came through in the details. Service stayed attentive, professional, and consistent throughout the visit. I'd happily return and recommend it.

We had a peaceful place to sleep in during the mornings, and our suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The lobby and lounge areas made for a really relaxing atmosphere. My wife and I came for a short vacation and the staff welcomed us warmly. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. We'd definitely recommend AKA White House to friends.
