Canal House of Georgetown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Laura at the bar was especially wonderful, personable and charming, and made it feel like being back at my local spot at home. The staff really made the experience for me. The rooms are clean and neatly furnished, and the location is fantastic, just off the main drag in Georgetown where it's comfortably quiet. I rarely, maybe never, write reviews, but I liked so much about this hotel. I'll stay here whenever I'm in the area.

The king room was a little tight, but the layout and storage made smart use of the space. It felt clean, modern, and thoughtfully arranged rather than cramped. Georgetown is a real plus: the canal, shops, and restaurants are easy to reach, while the hotel sits somewhere quieter than the main streets. The staff were friendly and professional, and the place has a low-key boutique feel instead of a typical chain. If you care more about location, design, and efficiency than a big room, it works well. Overall, a solid stay.

The lobby is a great place to work remotely, and the staff are attentive while still giving you space when you're in the common areas. MJ is amazing, the best bartender in DC. Try the sangria! The hotel is wonderful and very close to Georgetown, which made visiting my kids easy. M street shopping is nearby too.

I've traveled to the US from Europe a lot, and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, the service was phenomenal, the rooms were super clean, and breakfast hit the spot. The location is convenient too. I had a truly wonderful time here and highly recommend it.
