The big problem was bedbugs. I got multiple bites, so people staying here should be mindful of the bedrooms. Aside from that, things were fine: the staff were friendly, the location was convenient for nearby restaurants and entertainment on foot, and the rooftop was lovely for relaxing.

The staff were outgoing, generous, and full of spirit. I liked spending time with them on the rooftop deck, and thanks for the beers Mexican Stan! The hostel sits in an up-and-coming neighborhood, a little away from the main attractions. On weekends, the nearest coffee shop is a few blocks away, but it’s a nice walk. The building is wonderful, though it could use updates and small renovations in the kitchen and bathroom. I felt safe walking to and from the hostel, but both nights I stayed, street walkers on the corner were noisy from around 3 am to 7 am, waking me and keeping me up. If that could be addressed along with the needed updates, this would be one of the better hostels I’ve stayed in. I’d still recommend it and will probably stay again when I return in April.

The Wi-Fi didn’t work for me anywhere except the kitchen, and even there it was slow. Other guests had trouble too, so I ended up using all my cellular data. If the Wi-Fi improves, this would be a five-star stay. I’d stay again. The staff are friendly and helpful and try to make the experience good. The kitchen is well stocked, the rooms are clean, and the common areas have entertainment. The rooftop is awesome. Guests seemed split about 50/50 between workers and tourists. The location is good and felt safe, though I wouldn’t walk east at night.

Everyone I shared the bathroom with was friendly, and my roommates respected my belongings and personal space. There was only one toilet on each floor, but it never caused me any trouble. Locks aren't included, though you can buy one for $8. I skipped that and had no issues. It's a cute, budget-friendly hostel, and I'd consider staying here again.

The place feels like an old apartment building that's been adapted for hostel guests, so there are some signs of wear. It wasn't dirty, though, and a cleaner came in daily. My coed room on the first floor was okay, but it could get muggy, so opening a window helps. The bathrooms were in good shape. The staff were genuinely helpful and fun to talk with, and I met travelers from all over, including some great people from Europe and India. I wish I'd chatted with more guests. The neighborhood is lovely, with lots of interesting spots in walking distance and a little French cafe nearby. It's a great base for seeing the city, and I'd recommend it.
