Club Quarters Hotel in Washington DC

We felt safe and well looked after throughout our stay at Club Quarters Hotel White House in Washington DC. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and there were lots of good places to eat close by. With the Metro right next door, getting around DC was easy. There was a small mix-up when we arrived, but Gio at the front desk sorted it out right away. After a long day of travel, he even upgraded us at no extra charge. What could have been a stressful start turned into a really good experience. Thanks again to Gio for such thoughtful service.

The building is older, but it’s well kept and right in the heart of DC, with plenty of amenities in the hotel and close by. The free coffee bar is open 24/7, and the complimentary water was a lifesaver. Everyone at the front desk was accommodating during our stay. Missy in particular helped make our trip such a great experience.

The room was usable, but small, especially the bathroom. Cold air kept coming through around the poorly insulated window, leaving that side of the room uncomfortably cold all night and disrupting our sleep. The location is convenient, but the room size and lack of weatherproofing fell short of what we expected. We stayed at Club Quarters Hotel White House during a February visit to Washington, arriving in the middle of a severe blizzard with warnings in effect and wind chills close to -30°C. Since going outdoors that morning was no longer practical, we asked if we could check in early. Our room had already been cleaned and was available, but the hotel wanted an extra USD $50 for access a few hours sooner. In those extreme conditions, we found that response lacking in empathy and customer care.

I was impressed by how honest the hotel staff were. I had to switch rooms and left quite a bit of cash in an envelope in one of the drawers. The housekeeper who cleaned the room turned it in at the service desk, where I was able to collect it. The location is great, too, about a three-minute walk from the White House.
