Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington D.C. – Convention Center

We were there around July 4, 2024, and the staff were wonderful. D.C. was having water issues at the time, so they made hundreds of bottles of water available to guests for free. Everyone was friendly, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. Free breakfast was good, and if you have Hilton Gold status or higher, you can use the food and beverage credit at the restaurant onsite. Booking directly through Hilton also gives you guaranteed connecting rooms, which we needed and really appreciated. It’s not fancy, but it was just the right kind of middle-of-the-road Hilton for us. The small pool fills up quickly, so a couple of hot tubs would be a nice improvement. Five out of five, and we’d return.

We could walk to most attractions, and the hotel was in a great spot for getting around the city. The Metro was about a five-minute walk away if we wanted to go farther. Breakfast saved us a lot of money. Nearby restaurants would have cost us $60 or more each day for the food we got here. The morning staff were helpful, the rooms were very clean, and the evening reception was nice too. Each adult gets two drink tickets, with snacks available, mostly chips and vegetables.

Two free drinks and snacks each evening were a lovely bonus, especially at around £100 a night in central DC. We were there for five nights just before Christmas, and both of us loved the stay. The room was spacious and clean, with really comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful, and the omelet station was fantastic. Everyone on staff was polite and friendly. We travel all over the world, and I feel some of the negative reviews of this hotel are unjustified.

The room was spacious, and the hotel’s quiet hours were a plus. Most staff were friendly and professional, and the front desk knew the neighborhood well and offered useful suggestions. The valet team was top-notch too. Breakfast cooks could be better with guests. I saw one line cook yell at someone who had stepped out of the breakfast line, and another cook was filming himself on his phone while orders were getting messed up. The full bar is there, but the drinks are pricey and not well made. My old fashioned cost over $20, and I’d have been better off buying a premade one at a liquor store. The bathroom was the one part of the room that didn’t match the price. It looked like it hadn’t had a thorough clean, and there was what appeared to be water damage on the door and the wall by the showerhead. Even with those issues, I had an excellent stay.
