Hampton Inn Washington

The pool was closed for maintenance the whole time, and if I'd known that beforehand, I would've booked somewhere else. The hallway staff also yelled back and forth several times, which was obnoxious when I was trying to relax. I had to take a cold shower because there was no hot water. I messaged the front desk, and they said they were handling an unexpected sold-out weekend. I don't see how being sold out should affect this. I ended up going to a friend's house to shower properly before my six-hour drive. The room had a dirty toilet bowl, so I cleaned it myself and moved on, but there were also visible stains on the bedding and carpet. The front desk clerk was nice and check-in went smoothly, so credit for that. Still, the price was high and the stay didn't come close to matching it. I wasn't satisfied and won't return. When I asked about reimbursement for the problems, they said nothing could be done.

After a ten-hour drive, the rest we got here was amazing. The place felt peaceful and relaxing, and we felt very safe. Other guests were great too, and everything we needed was just around the corner or within a mile. The staff were spectacular. I highly recommend it, and think it's worth the price. We came for a quick trip and have stayed here a couple of times before. The room had been updated since our last visit, and it was tidy and clean. We slept well, just as we usually do here. They're renovating the pool area, though we've never used it. We'd definitely stay again next time we're in town.

We saw three cockroaches in our room, including one on the pillow by my partner's head. We moved rooms, but we'd already gone to bed, so it really disrupted the night. Since we were with a group, we stayed, though on our own we would've gone to another hotel. The front desk wouldn't offer compensation for that night, and after days of calls I had to contact the corporate complaint line. Our group leader booked the block under their name after we paid them, so Hilton wouldn't give my partner and me the one-night Hampton voucher we asked for. I got 10K Hilton points instead, which might cover a third of one night's cost at best. The breakfast wasn't acceptable to me either. I was shocked by the poor quality, lack of pest control, and the front desk's careless attitude. I doubt I'll ever book a Hampton again.
