The Henley Park Hotel

The room was clean and really pleasant, and the rates were reasonable. Parking was expensive, but that helped balance out the room price. It was an unexpected delight at this boutique hotel. I wouldn’t go out alone there at night, though I felt fine during the day and taking an Uber at night. Highly recommend!

The bell staff and housekeeping were exceptional. Honestly, they should be running the place. The manager, on the other hand, was rude and dismissive. I asked to speak to one after I was told I had to pay for an extra day to check in two hours early, even though they said rooms were ready. I got the same answer in a rude manner, with no explanation beyond “it is what it is.” I work with hotels through my job all the time and have never had this issue when a room is ready. It felt like a complete cash grab. I’ll never give this place business personally or through my work clients. I usually never leave bad reviews, but this place changed that. At the desk, nobody greeted me; they basically said, “What?” and I had to explain I was checking in.

Jamal did a lovely job, and the service was terrific. The high tea is available daily and is a great value, with excellent scones. Make reservations, though, since they bake for the morning’s reservations.

We arrived early and got upgraded to a beautiful suite. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and classically decorated, and the staff were very cordial and accommodating when we collected our bags. The hotel has an elegant, classic design and a welcoming, professional team. Its location is excellent, close to public transit and within walking distance of plenty of attractions, restaurants, and entertainment. The price is a great deal, too. I’d love to return and would absolutely recommend it.
