Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. George North - Zion by IHG

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEIR SALES DEPARTMENT. The rooms were clean, nicely equipped, and good, but the booking mess was unbelievable. I’d reserved a conference room and four guest rooms for a meeting with a large local customer. I spoke with the salesperson several times, signed a contract, sent a credit card authorization form, and got confirmation that everything was in the system with all guest names on the rooms. When I arrived to check in at 9:30 PM, there were no reservations. The desk agent said I’d have to call the salesperson myself and sort it out. Thankfully the salesperson answered and then called the desk. Apparently the desk had been specifically told not to put anyone in a room unless the salesperson entered the reservation. I sat in the lobby for an hour while the salesperson drove over to do that. I was exhausted and completely shocked. I understand wanting to follow a process, but why have a rule that leaves guests stranded and turns a bad situation into a nightmare? At least there was lemon water and cookies in the lobby.

The rooms were clean and spacious, with enough room for one or two pack and plays or travel cribs if needed. The pool was heated and still pleasant for swimming at the start of October. John, the manager, was really friendly when he checked in with us at breakfast during our great one-night stopover. Two small suggestions: a more kid-friendly yogurt option than Greek yogurt at breakfast, and straws or lids for the juice and chocolate milk.

The lobby had cool water ready when we arrived, and breakfast was awesome with plenty of seats. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, and the rooms were clean. The pool was comfortable, and the parking lot was easy to get around. My family booked two rooms for two nights to visit Zion National Park on our way home. We had a great stay, just what we expected from IHG. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in the area.

The room was clean, but getting help was frustrating. Twice over two days, we called the front desk for things and were told they’d bring them to the room. Neither time did they arrive. After the first call, we went down ourselves to pick things up. The front desk apologized for forgetting and said they were too busy. The second time we didn’t go down, and of course nothing was delivered. At breakfast, items also stayed empty for a long time before being refilled.
