Hotel Madera

I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel Madera, especially for the price. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a luxurious bed and linens. The bathroom was well done, and the WiFi worked seamlessly. The whole stay felt thoughtful. Next time I need to be near DuPont Circle, I’ll stay here again. I couldn’t be more pleased.

Before we even arrived, management had left us disappointed. Circumstances outside our control meant we needed to move our one-night stay up by just one day. There were rooms available, and we were willing to pay any rate difference, but they were unwilling or unable to make the adjustment. We explained our situation clearly and respectfully, but got rigid policy and no effort to work with us. We felt the request was reasonable and common in hospitality, where flexibility and empathy matter to guests. The property itself may be lovely, but this lack of customer care is hard to overlook. Based on what happened, it’s difficult to recommend the hotel, especially to friends who value a responsive and compassionate place to stay.

The room was one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed in, absolutely gorgeous. Service was good and the location great, and I was surprised by how reasonable the price was on hotels.com compared with nearby hotels. I definitely chose well and would stay here again.

We’ve stayed twice, and both visits were really enjoyable. The restaurant and bar are a great place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. The staff are exceptional, always friendly and ready to help. A wonderful experience.
