Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill

My girlfriend and I came to see the place after its renovation, and they did a spectacular job. This was my best Hyatt experience ever. Sunday evening, 02/15, our server Maya was fantastic at dinner. She was busy but still managed all her tables, including ours, with outstanding service. The next night, 02/16, Christian was attentive in the Regency Club even though we didn't dine there. I think that kind of attention matters. At the front desk, Mohammed, a manager, gave us a warm greeting and was very knowledgeable. Feidi, an agent, was sweet and respectful.

The pool area was beautiful, and the kids happily spent hours playing there. The shower facilities were great, too. I also thought the gym was one of the best hotel gyms I've used, with plenty of cardio and weight machines as well as free weights. We were two blocks from the National Mall and walked to Capitol Hill, the botanical garden, and several museums, including the natural history museum. The facility is newly renovated and stunning. All the staff we met were delightful. Our room had a minor issue, and Samantha at the front desk sorted it quickly. Breakfast was a wide buffet with rotating hot and cold, sweet and savory choices for our group's different preferences. We ate there for two days, and our waitress, an Asian woman whose name we didn't get, was attentive and kept the coffee coming. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was pleasant, with helpful staff like Wilson. Hamid from the bell staff helped us a lot as well. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend!

The rooms have been upgraded since my last visit and feel comfortable, with a modern makeover. I especially liked the glass shower and premium shower heads. It's a convenient location for visiting the capital, an easy walk to the Senate buildings and Supreme Court, with the congressional buildings just beyond the Capital building.

Dino took my beat-up shoes and brought them back from the brink. I was arriving from Boston after the big blizzard of 2026, and didn't want to head to the hill looking shabby. He has 47 years of experience and also pointed me toward places to go. He's friendly and just a good man. I'll stay there again just to see him. Tell Dino Dave from Job Corps sent you, and tip well. The rooms are great, the staff are friendly and competent, and it's a nice location near the hill with a safe area to walk around. Go stay there.
