Kimpton George Hotel by IHG

The room was comfortable, with great water pressure, and the hotel was clean. Housekeeping did a great job. I had a couple of shower problems, the head wouldn't stay up and the drain was slow, but Eric came and fixed them right away after I told the staff. Marcel and Soloman at the front desk were hospitable and had several suggestions to make my four-night January 2026 stay more enjoyable. There's valet parking, or a self-parking deck across the street. I'll be back soon.

Everything in the room worked as it should, including the refrigerator, which was a welcome change. The internet stayed fast and reliable, and the room was clean, ready, and comfortable when I arrived. Check-in was quick and professional. The Kimpton George Hotel in Washington, DC felt well managed and attentive to the details that affect a guest's stay. Smooth and stress-free, and I'd gladly return.

The employees were awesome at the Kimpton George, especially Solomon, who helped me throughout my stay. Without him, I would've broken a few nails getting my things out of the truck. The manager was great too, though I can't remember her name. The area was fine and not too chaotic. Valet was a good option, especially since everyone takes an Uber anyway. Time well spent here.

I booked online directly on March 6 for two guests, with check-in on the 20th and checkout on the 21st. The confirmation showed the same day and time as when I had just booked, even though I had checked the details and they were correct online. I called almost immediately to cancel or change it, but they refused, saying I had to do so within 24 hours. While I was on the phone, I tried booking again and checked the dates and guest count, but the confirmation was still wrong. I told the manager on duty the website wasn't working properly. He insisted it was fine and said I'd be charged the full amount as a no-show. I've disputed the charge with my credit card company. Kimpton has lost a long-standing customer.
