Riggs Washington DC

We’re still hearing how incredible the wedding dinner and desserts, including the cake, were. Cafe Riggs had great cocktails, and the hotel itself looked stunning. But what really made the reception for us was how well everyone took care of us and our guests. The valet team, especially Coach, made arrivals and departures smooth every time. Karen helped get our wedding planning started, and Brittany handled the rest so well. She was down to earth and kept my Type A brain at ease because I knew she had everything under control. I can’t say enough good things about either of them. We couldn’t have asked for more from Riggs. I’d recommend it for a wedding or special event, and we’re looking forward to coming back for our anniversary next year and remembering the day.

The Christmas market right next door made the location especially fun, and the hotel is gorgeous. Check-in was easy, breakfast and room service were delicious, and the whole place had such a nice feel. We used the hotel cribs, and there was plenty of room for our two little ones. We loved staying at the Riggs Hotel and will come back when we’re in DC.

DAngelo made our Christmas Eve dinner at Cafe Riggs especially memorable. His service was the best we’ve had in DC since COVID. He was welcoming and funny in just the right amount, while still giving my husband and me space to enjoy our holiday meal. The food and atmosphere were spectacular and put us right in the Christmas mood. We’ll be back, and we’ll ask for DAngelo again.

The anniversary touches were so thoughtful: a bottle of champagne, chocolate cake, and a card were waiting for us on arrival. The staff made us feel welcome throughout our stay, and Garret and the other doormen remembered us each day and even made sure we had everything from our Ubers. We loved the cozy rooms and their tasteful colors and decor, especially compared with the beige rooms we’ve had elsewhere. The building’s banking past shows in details like the room number plates styled like safe deposit box plates. Everything was clean, and the complimentary robes, slippers, umbrella, and reusable bag were handy. The hotel is beautiful and well kept. Cafe Riggs was a highlight too. We loved the Shakshuka, salmon toast, goat cheese tart, and rich, not-at-all-bitter coffee, which was some of the best we’ve had. The central DC location is great, just a block from the metro or a quick Uber from most places. We were there for our 25th wedding anniversary, and the team made it special. We’ve found our home away from home in DC and will return whenever we’re in town.
