Washington Marriott Georgetown

We found plenty of restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood felt safe and picturesque, with a few embassies close by. It’s about a five-minute walk to Washington Circle and ten minutes to Foggy Bottom Metro, with a 15-minute Metro ride to the main sights. The room was spacious and updated, breakfast was very good, and the staff were helpful. A highly recommended place for visiting Washington, DC.

We had no room cleaning for two of our five nights at Washington Marriott Georgetown, June 3-7, even after asking repeatedly. On the first day we contacted the front desk twice and spoke directly with a housekeeping manager once. The manager asked us to give a time for service the next day, so we said 10 a.m. We left at 9 and gave them a three-hour window. When we returned at 12:01, nothing had been done, aside from the front desk offering a string of excuses. As longtime Hilton Honors guests, we expect more professionalism. We won’t stay here again. The rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is very well placed for the main attractions and other places to visit. Parking was around $70 a night. Lobby staff said nearby garages cost about the same, so we believed them and parked at the hotel on our first night. Actually, there are parking options within a ten-minute walk for around $15-20 a night. Don’t get caught out by the hotel parking.

The lobby is lovely and welcoming, and the staff made our stay with our two young kids really enjoyable. The person who checked us in gave us hop-on, hop-off bus tickets and restaurant/bar vouchers without us asking. When a scooter we’d had delivered arrived without the tools needed to assemble it, the staff paged an engineer. He came to help within five minutes and wouldn’t accept a tip. We’d definitely return.
