Fairfield Inn & Suites Watervliet St. Joseph

I’ve stayed here a few times and have always found the room clean and comfortable. The staff have been polite and helpful. I finally made it up in time for breakfast on this visit. It could use some work, but it was hot and free, so I’m not complaining. Reading the negative reviews, I wonder how entitled some people are. Places like this serve hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people regularly. Tone it down a notch. You’re not special, no matter what your mommy told you.

The water park is still closed for now, but I heard the upgrades should be finished by the end of summer, so hopefully it’s only getting better. The service was wonderful. Vinny and the other guy, whose name I didn’t catch, were friendly and easy to talk to. I booked two rooms, and both were very clean with no odd smell. They had soap and clean white towels, and the lobby looks beautiful. We travel a lot, and this was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I paid double for the room expecting water park passes, then found out hotel guests could use the pool and hot tub for free. The slides cost another $20 per person. The place was one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, there was no microwave, and the refrigerator didn’t work. I’d go somewhere else.

The kids loved the warm water and the great hot tub, and everything was very clean. The water park wasn’t open, but they still let the kids use the play toy, so only the big slides were unavailable. The front desk girl was extremely helpful and friendly, and the rooms were spotless. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including a vegetarian option. I was really impressed and would definitely stay again.
