The location was decent, but the room was the most disgusting one I’ve ever stayed in. There was food crusted on the wall, the air conditioner was held up with tape, and the room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Housekeeping needs retraining. There was pee in the shower that wasn’t ours, plus debris on the carpet and tile. I could have lived with the repairs needed, but the lack of cleanliness was appalling.

The front desk staff were extremely nice, and the towels and sheets were clean. The mini fridge and microwave looked brand new too. That’s about where the good points end. We booked four nights for a Navy graduation and paid nearly $600. We left early. The supposedly non-smoking room smelled like a Marlboro ashtray, the hallways reeked of weed, and someone was yelling and swearing loudly in a room nearby. The walls were so dusty they looked abandoned for a decade. There were strange splatters on the walls, sink, and counters, a sticky remote, and a used Q-tip on the floor. The bathroom was a biohazard, with dried piss around the toilet, sludge in the sinks, and a smell that suggested the place had given up years ago. I wouldn’t let my kids walk barefoot or sit on the floor. Worse, the carpet in the middle of the room was peeling back and exposing sharp tack strips. I stepped on one and bled, and now I’m waiting to see what medieval disease I caught. The hotel should’ve paid me to endure it. Avoid this place unless you’re testing how low your standards can go. Cleaner gas station bathrooms are easy to find.

The front desk people were nice, but that simple interaction couldn’t save the experience. I chose based on the pictures without checking reviews, and they must have been at least a decade old. The hallways smelled weird, and the room was shocking: stains on the counter, floors, comforter, and walls, clumps of hair behind the toilet, and a grocery bag from Home Depot used as the trash bag. The AC was duct-taped to the wall and the hair dryer didn’t work. Every time the bed frame got bumped or moved oddly, it made a gunshot noise that scared me several times during the night. The walls were so thin I could hear the person next door turn on a light, along with people fighting in the middle of the night. I hope this is the worst hotel I ever have to stay in.

I’ve loved staying here both times. The customer service was very nice, my room was clean and had all the basics I needed, and the price was wonderful. The lady who cleans the rooms does a great job, even at her age. This family owned hotel has very nice people who do their best to accommodate you.

I had to call the local police department to get a partial refund. The front desk person and the manager, or at least the person I was told was the manager, lacked customer service and sensitivity. They both dismissed my concerns after I showed them pictures and refused to move me to another room. I asked for a non-smoking room at check-in and was given a smoking room. I didn’t know smoking hotels still existed in 2024. Being banned is the least of my concerns. I’d rather sleep on the freezing Midwest streets than stay here again. This place is horrible. Please don’t give this location your business, especially service members and their families. It doesn’t represent the quality I know exists in our town. Unfortunately, I can’t post the pictures I took.
