A beautiful new hotel, spotlessly clean, with helpful and friendly staff. Looking forward to the steakhouse opening soon!
The property is beautiful, and the rooms were clean, modern, and just what you'd expect in a brand-new hotel. Still, what should have been a simple overnight visit turned into a stressful evening because parking wasn't workable for our vehicle. The small hotel lot was full when we arrived. The front desk said we could use the garage across the street and bring back the receipt to have the cost deducted from our bill. But our Toyota Sienna had a rooftop carrier and wouldn't clear the garage's height limit. When we went back to ask for another option, we were told there wasn't one. We spent nearly two hours driving around looking for legal overnight parking. Several lots needed permits or had restrictions posted. We even considered leaving the van in a retail lot and taking an Uber back because we couldn't find a solution. On our second visit to the desk, an employee suggested the library lot across the street despite the towing signs, or a nearby permit-only lot. She wrote a note by hand for the dashboard and assured us it would be okay. She was genuinely trying to help, but admitted she wasn't sure what else to do. We chose the permit-only lot, feeling we had no other option. My husband set an alarm for 6 a.m. to check that the van hadn't been ticketed or towed. If you're in a standard-sized vehicle that fits the garage, this is probably a great place to stay. With a larger family vehicle or rooftop carrier, I'd think through parking before booking.
Night one was great for sleep, one of my best in a long time. We arrived after midnight and check-in was a breeze, with super friendly staff. Everything was clean and the bed was awesome. At 8:30 the first morning, breakfast seemed to be first come, first served. There was no juice or water, less than one egg's worth of fake scrambled eggs, and about half a cup of potatoes, which I didn't dare try. You could make your own waffles, but the woman there didn't know how it worked. She spent eight minutes locking off the waffle corner while cleaning up her uncooked waffle. My blueberry bagel was in the toaster four minutes and barely warmed. At least the cream cheese was creamy and not expired. The second morning at 8:30, there was nothing but triangle slices of ham, waffles, old bagels, and wrapped sweets. By 8 p.m. that day, the elevator was out of order, so I had to take the stairs to the third floor with a bad knee. I already had handicap parking. The third night there were lots of people on the fourth floor running, jumping, screaming, and banging. Breakfast the next day was sad: fake eggs in a pool of yellow water, sausage links and patties that were probably not hot enough to serve legally. I even felt the pan because the area seemed to have no heat. It was the cheapest sausage money can buy. At least there was orange juice!
The staff were very friendly, and the place is brand new, clean, and in a great spot for shops and restaurants. Parking at the hotel is a little limited for large vehicles. This was my first stay at a Cobblestone, but it won't be my last. I'll stay here again when I'm in the area.
The location was great, with an easy, quick walk downtown. I recommend Cobblestone if you're staying in Waukesha. We loved our stay last weekend, and I hadn't realized it had only opened a week before I booked. The hotel was beautiful and pristine, the room was a good size, and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was laid out well, with waffles, cereal, bagels, pastries, fruit, biscuits and gravy with eggs and tots. I wasn't sure about the sausage gravy, but tried some and thought it was excellent. My husband was glad to have a savory option. The coffee station was fantastic too, with Starbucks coffee, syrups, creamer, and more. I didn't get to see the pool or fitness center, though based on everything else I'm sure they're great for a short stay. I'd suggest adding water stations, fountains, or at least a couple of bottles in the rooms. I don't mind tap water, but since I'm not from the area I wasn't sure whether it was okay to drink. We eventually asked staff, but it'd be nice to have water easily available.
