The little things that could’ve made this stay better were a few rugs on the cold bedroom tile, a headboard that didn’t bump the wall when I shifted in bed, and a shower faucet that wasn’t sticking out so awkwardly. They didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed being there, though. The house felt happy, and I felt very welcome. I stayed in the Garden room for two days after escaping the busy pace of life in Madison. It was cozy, with lovely natural light, a white and green color scheme, paintings, and cheerful houseplants. I could watch birds from the room after the owner refilled the feeders. The hosts were kind, wore masks, and communicated well. I had the first floor to myself, with WiFi, satellite TV, a spacious kitchen stocked with what you need, and the shared bathroom beside it. Everything was simple and easy to figure out. The host kept the stove going with logs, and I got two delicious donuts. The library had interesting books and magazines, and there were lots of games. I also walked partway along a beautiful trail, which I’d suggest visiting in daylight. The B&B uses solar panels to run its indoor heating systems, which is sustainable. 👍

The hostess was charming and interesting, and breakfast was delicious and hearty, with food from their gardens. We arrived around 6 PM in bitter, icy weather, but there was already a fire in the woodstove and the house felt wonderfully cozy. Our bedroom was comfortable, and the whole stay felt professional and private. It was a great adventure that changed how I think about sustainable living. I’m very thankful.

Leif was a perfect host, and the place had all the basics covered: a full kitchen, coffee, tea, fruit, eggs, bagels, and more. The Garden Room is small but adequate, especially with a couple of large shared rooms and outdoor space. It was very quiet. The bathroom was around the corner and wasn’t shared with another room. A fantastic place for a night or even a week. Highly recommended!

I’m so glad I found this place. My second yoga retreat here, staying at the bed and breakfast, was wonderful. Marguerite and Bob are lovely hosts who made the experience feel comfortable and authentic. I’m grateful, and we’ll make this an annual retreat.
