The English Merchant's Inn

We loved the location, an easy walk to downtown bars, restaurants, and shops. My husband and I had a great stay at The English Merchants Inn. Howard and Tony were gracious and very helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The common spaces felt inviting and whimsical, with a fun, eclectic style. We don't often have a reason to come to Waxahachie, but if we're in the area again, we'll definitely stay at The English Meechants.

Our suite was comfortable, with nice beds and furniture, and the coffee and tea bar was a thoughtful touch. The fridge and ice maker were spotless and worked great. We also really liked the period furniture and decorations. The house is lovingly cared for and beautifully decorated, and the whole place was clean, relaxing, and luxurious. Excellent service, and we can't wait to stay here again!

We got a little history about the property when we arrived, and I can see why the lady it was built for agreed to move in. The high ceilings, gorgeous floors, and beautiful fireplaces were something else. Staying in a 100+ year old house was a lot of fun, especially with the period holiday decorations up. It was quiet and comfortable, and I really appreciated the well-stocked coffee and tea bar in the room. The fridge and ice maker were clean and worked well, too. Hot water and water pressure were 10/10, no notes.

I loved the English touches, clearly collected and displayed with care over many years. It was such a refreshing change from the usual characterless hotels I have to stay in. If I'm in Waxahachie for work again, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
