Amanda and her family made this feel like a home, not a business. She chatted with us, welcomed us herself, and took time to show us around and tell us about the house. Amanda is only the third owner since the original family built and lived in it. The old place has been lovingly restored, with decor chosen to make it comfortable and inviting. Everything was sparkling clean, including the dazzling chandeliers, and there were big fluffy towels and bathrobes. Snacks, tea, coffee and water were there too. Our room was quiet, with a balcony facing the back garden. On that warm evening I sat outside before bed and listened to the crickets. Amanda suggested local places for supper and a drink, all easy to walk to, and we enjoyed them. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, so good we wished we had room for one more bite. She’s a wonderful hostess, and we’d happily stay again and recommend it to friends and family.

Being right on Main Street made it easy to walk to shops and restaurants, and there were lovely indoor and outdoor spots to relax at the inn. My sister and I had a wonderful two-night visit to The Amberson House Bed & Breakfast. Amanda, the innkeeper, went above and beyond to make us feel at ease and welcome. We loved the themed rooms, the made-to-order hot breakfast and her local recommendations. It’s a beautifully cared-for older home with lots of charm. We’ll definitely stay again!

We stayed in the castle room, and it was such a cool experience. The bed was very comfortable, and the place was clean and neat. Antique pieces all through the inn made it feel like stepping back in time, and much of the original hardware and mouldings are still in the building, adding character. Amanda was gracious and accommodating, and she’s a fantastic breakfast cook. The food came on beautiful antique china with elegant flatware. We’ll stay again when we’re back in the area. Thanks, Amanda, for a great visit!

Breakfast was wonderful, and I appreciated Amanda checking about food restrictions and allergies. She also made sure we had what we needed and made us feel safe, comfortable and welcome. The house is gorgeous, full of details to admire, and every room has its own fun character. The rooms that aren’t occupied are left open so guests can peek inside. It was such a cozy, comfortable place to stay while visiting southern PA. We didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend!
