Clarion Inn & Suites Weatherford South

A trailer blowout and bad spare left us needing a room at the last minute on Sunday night. Booking and check-in were both quick and easy, and the clean lobby felt welcoming. The room smelled nice, unlike the weed smell you run into in too many hotel rooms these days, and we slept great in the comfortable bed. Checkout was simple. I don’t eat hotel “free” breakfast, since it’s usually crap, so I can’t say how it was. The parking lot is small, though.

The location was okay, and the youngest had fun in the pool. Our room smelled like smoke. We booked through expedia.com, and had to pay another $30 to check in early. The front desk person seemed nice, but we also had to pay extra to leave our luggage for a few more hours.

The hot tub felt great after nearly two weeks on the road, and the management and staff were very accommodating. It was nice to find a little bar and bistro at a hotel in this price range. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, but the bistro has several choices if you’d rather stay in. The free hot breakfast was good, with eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, and other continental options. The room and bed were comfortable, though a little dated, and housekeeping could’ve done a better job. Nothing serious enough to complain about. It was a welcoming oasis, and I’d stay here again next time I’m around.

Wasn’t expecting a bar and bistro in the hotel, but the drinks were great and the food was surprisingly good. The room was clean, the shower had good water pressure, and the bed was comfy. Five stars!
