The downstairs lobby was a nice spot to relax, and breakfast was amazing. I found the hotel immaculate, with a well-kept room and very nice beds. The staff were quick to respond to my questions and eager to help. I'd stay here again and recommend it to all my friends.

The outside area was nasty, with awful-looking patio furniture, beer bottle tops scattered around, and two big bags of trash about six feet from the patio. Inside, the doors were falling apart, didn't shut right, and were hard to unlock. The whole hotel smelled musty. In our queen room with a sofa bed, the two pillows were completely worn out and flat. The pool table trash can was full and crawling with gnats. The sink was broken, with pieces left on the counter. The outlet by the sink was so worn out the coffee pot plug wouldn't stay in, and the other outlets were all occupied, leaving nowhere to charge a phone. One had a six-way plug with an extension cord running to a lamp, which seemed like a fire hazard. The air conditioning unit was full of dirt, so I was afraid to turn it on. This place was a dump.

The place is under new ownership, and the owner seems to be trying, but it's not ready for business. Wi-Fi didn't work, and I had to switch rooms right away because the heater in the first one wouldn't turn on. It was December in Iowa. In the second room, the shower had stains from water constantly dripping. At check-in I was told the base level was being remodeled, but later that evening I found out it was being fumigated for bed bugs. I pulled the bed apart and found numerous dead bugs behind it. I checked out immediately and got a refund right away.

The manager wouldn't refund our money when we went to the desk. The room had dead bugs in the bed, buggers on the bathroom wall, and the cold water to the sink was shut off, with plumbing parts scattered on the floor underneath. I took several pictures. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever been in, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Non-smoking rooms smelled like ashtrays, and the whole place had a mildew smell. The rooms weren't consistent either, some had microwaves and others didn't. The front desk never answered when I called. Don't waste your money. Spend the extra $50 on a room and save yourself the bad experience.
