The room wasn’t very clean, and there was hair in bathroom spots where you should never find hair. It also had a terrible odor, maybe from the heat and air unit. I think it was a really strong mold smell. We couldn’t switch rooms, so we decided to let the front desk know to keep anyone else from being put in there. They said they’d give us some points for the trouble, but never did. For sure, we won’t be back.

Aside from the problems, our room was clean and the staff were nice. But we had to wait 30 minutes for the room to be ready. We’re expected to check out by a set time, yet they can delay check-in, taking away time we’re paying for, especially at $175 a night. Housekeeping also came into our room around 9:30am, several hours before checkout, which made us feel rushed. Before we arrived, we were given a free “upgrade.” The app they ask you to download was useless and showed a queen room. I thought I’d booked a king, so I checked my original confirmation and sure enough, it was a king. I don’t know why they’d “upgrade” us to a smaller room without telling us. Thankfully, we arrived early enough to be moved to the room we’d booked. Breakfast was a mess: no plates or forks, just one waffle maker, a long wait to use it, and then they ran out of batter. The TV also wouldn’t turn off completely, leaving the room lit up and making it hard to sleep.

The hotel was busy when we stayed for one night on a road trip. The front desk attendant forgot to bring the pack and play we’d requested, but it wasn’t a problem since we had our own backup. We eventually found the pack and play in our room closet. He was working the morning we checked out and flagged us down to apologize for forgetting it at check-in. We told him we’d found it in the closet and it hadn’t been an issue, and that we appreciated the apology even though it wasn’t necessary. Breakfast was typical Marriott fare, no complaints. I’d recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, breakfast quality, and especially the service from the staff.

The kitchenette was a huge plus for our three-day road trip, and the outdoor gas fire pit was lit when we arrived and again early the morning we left. That little touch felt cheery and warm. It’s in a great spot for I-26. This is a reliable, new property. Everything was clean and bright, as we expect from a Marriott.
