Walnut Inn & Suites West Covina

The management and staff were angry and seemed ready to fight over anything. We booked a week but had to move elsewhere because of how upset they got when I asked for an accommodation. We moved in pouring rain and moved out 12 hours later in the rain too. It had been raining since New Year’s Eve and was still raining 24 hours after that. I have sensitive skin and can’t stay in a room cleaned with products that leave a strong fragrance. They use a lot of Fabuloso, which I don’t consider a cleaner because it doesn’t kill germs or bacteria, it just leaves a potent smell. I asked them not to clean the room, but to inspect it at their discretion to make sure it was clean. They attacked me for asking. We found other lodging right away, but not everyone can afford to pay for another place while waiting for a refund. Our room also wasn’t ready until 10 PM, even though we tried to check in at 7 PM. It was raining when we arrived. I wondered if the man had argued with another guest and had to clean the room, but that’s only my guess. During the move, the floor got soaked, so I used the towels to mop up the water. They were so poor I wouldn’t use them to dry a dog, and I travel with my own towels and bedding anyway. After we left, the man who inspected the room said the towels were for throwing away and was going to try to charge us. Please look at the attached photo of the two washcloths they gave us. One is light gray. Disgusting. As others have said, the people running this place are below any standard of hospitality. Horrible is the word for our experience. Stay at the Travel lodge next door. The Walnut Inn staff are unprofessional and angry.
