The front desk staff were very nice, but after three days there last week, I left thinking the hotel needs a lot of attention. It used to feel upscale, and now it seems tired. Our balcony still had garbage bags and pizza boxes from the guests before us, and the TV was placed so none of the seating could see it. The fitness center had four ellipticals at one time, but now there was only one, and it was broken. We went to the Market at 7:20 for breakfast, though it was supposed to open at 7, and found it closed because the employee who opens it hadn't arrived. The lobby coffee had no cream on our second day because, we were told, the order hadn't come in. When I asked about late checkout, they said they needed to check with a manager and it would cost an extra $100 per hour.

The rooms are a little dated, but there are lots of options for bigger families, including some with stoves, ovens, and large fridge-freezers. I didn't use the spa or pool, though both are there. The staff were friendly, and the location is hard to beat: step outside and you're right at the lift.

The slopes here are much nicer than Killington and Stratton, in my opinion. They’re wide, with plenty of space to ski without running into other skiers or immature snowboarders. This was my first time at Mount Snow last week, after skiing at different resorts for about 15 years, and it’s my favorite so far. Our clean room with a kitchenette worked fine for three. Customer service was polite when we arrived, though a bit confusing. After unloading, we went back to the desk, where another woman explained the hotel and the whole location much more clearly. If the hotel and lift prices don't climb any higher, I'll be back at least twice a year. - Jeff from Florida

Joel, the manager, was compassionate and understanding about the problems we had, and he tried to make things right. He did, too. I suspect our issues were unusual, since the place seems to care about guests being happy, and people we spoke with love it there. The front desk ladies were helpful and knew their stuff. It's a great spot for a family stay, and the pool, hot tub, sauna, and health club are GREAT!! If being close to ski-in/ski-out access matters, ask for a room nearer the back doors. It's a long building, and ours was a long way from them, though that won't bother everyone. The valet workers were also awesome and helped a lot when our car wouldn't start. Note to self: keep the key fob out of the same pocket as the hotel key. Thank you, Joel and the rest of the staff.

We came for the day with our Epic Pass rather than staying at the resort, and had a great time skiing. The main base area was too crowded for us, with long lift lines, but Sunbrook felt quieter and made it easier to get in more runs. We spent most of our time there, especially enjoying the trails for intermediate skiers. They’re some of the best on the mountain for that level. Sunbrook can be colder and windier, particularly when it's snowing, so bundle up. The trails and calmer feel made it worth it for us.
